of how we keep guns out of places that they are not allowed to be in this country, the u.s. congress in 1988 passed something called the undetectable firearms act. it said basically, your gun has to be detectable in an x-ray scanner. it has to have the equivalent x-ray signature of 3.7 ounces of stainless steel, even if you take out the magazine and the stock and the grips. even with those parts taken off, the remaining guts of the gun need to have a substantial metal component. so they will be seen on an x-ray machine. because of that law, we do not have fully plastic guns. that law was first passed in 1988. it was not particularly controversial. the vote in the house on that was 413 to 4. and president ronald reagan signed it. and tyranny was not unleashed upon the land. it is not controversial now that it is illegal to manufacture or sell a gun in the united states that is built to evade detection by standard means. we don't have plastic guns. we banned plastic guns. the ban has been renewed several times since. it is up for renewal again next year. when it comes up for renewal ne

in is giving help to our economy, and that requires printing of u.s. dollars and lots of them as the fed has been doing. i thhnk one of the small reasons why you're paying more for gas today than you did last year at this time is basically because our dollar is buying us slightly less now than it did then. however, there is another side of this and we have a technical p picture that absolutely shows us that gasoline is in a downward parallel channel and certainly would go lower as time passes and we're now looking at the 200-day moving average for the crude oil market which is getting below that. melissa: it is moving down, no question. >> absolutely. melissa: i have one reason for that. i was looking at stats, consumption is expected to be 8.73 million barrels a day. that is the lowest level since 2001. why do you think our gasoline consumption is so low right now? >> you know, there is a lot of conservationism going on. there are a lot of cars now that are not using nearly as much gas as they used to. melissa: no, that is not it. come on. >> there is lot of things that come together here.

: to me, the most irresponsible comment came on tv yesterday by a u.s. senator dianne feinstein who is rushing to resurrect a bill on gun control. the most responsible set of comments came from the n.r.a. which said at the beginning when the events begin unfolding on tv let's wait for all the facts to come in. i'm calling as a former v.a. homeless outreach worker in rest l.a. one third of america's homeless are military veterans. every one of them could be off the street with mental health problems and so forth if the v.a. would process the claims that have been four and a half years delayed. we sue the v.a. in the ninth u.s. circuit court of appeals in may of last year. the government under obama and holder appealed that win before the three justices panel in may of last year to the full court which set aside our victory and veterans are now back to square one with no mental health issues from a v.a. under a former four-star army general who refuses to process our benefits claim. host: ok. here is paul on twitter. my question is how will balm care -- obama care address the shortage
